Our client Strathmore Mineral Water, wanted to reduce energy consumption/wastage and improve their energy efficiency with in the facility.
CPA carried out a full and comprehensive operational survey revealing the warehouse distribution door as a major source of energy loss due to the sheer number of hours this door is spent open during product loading and unloading.
We installed an Enershield Air Barrier above the warehouse door. The Enershield Air Barrier creates a virtual door by re-circulating ambient air and forcing it across an opening to create up to a 90% seal. The seal separates the atmospheres on either side preventing the transfer of temperature, humidity, dust, odours and flying insects.
Immediately after installation they were able to switch off two radiant tube heaters in the warehouse rated at 22kw each whilst still maintaining the working environment temperature. This has resulted in substantial savings on gas usage. Our client reports that prior to the installation they were using on average 10,000Kwh of gas per week compared to 7,000Kwh per week for the same period. Other benefits from the installation of the Enershield Air Barrier include the prevention of flying insects entering the facility and improved working environment for staff on colder days.
